Vicknoise y Undo (see)

 

Vicknoise inició de muy joven una relación muy especial con la música electrónica. Ya a los 16 años empezó a coleccionar discos de bleep techno y braindance y comenzó a mezclar. Su afición por la música condujo a que rápidamente se interesara por más estilos abarcando desde el deep techno, electro, breaks y eso es precisamente lo que ahora refleja en sus sesiones.

Una combinación de estilos perfectamente mezclados y siempre dirigidos a un objetivo muy concreto: la pista. Eso es lo que le ha permitido establecerse como uno de los residentes habituales en algunas de las más prestigiosas discotecas barcelonesas como The Loft, y a participar en eventos como el Sónar o Primavera Sound. Una de sus primeras residencias fue en la sala Moog de Barcelona junto a su colega Zero en esas sesiones reflejaban el espirtu del techno de Detroit de principios de los 90, combinado con electro de pinceladas ochenteras.

Pero sus ganas de aprender hicieron que rápidamente se interesara por la producción y a sus 22 años a iniciado, junto a Undo, también residente de The Loft, su propio sello, Factor City, un sello que pretende cambiar el panorama musical nacional e internacional. Este año se podran ver sus producciones y remezclas en sellos como Force Inc, Bpitch Control y como no en el suyo propio.

Estos dos dj's y productores se perfilan como un icono referente en su estilo de música tan caracteristico y suyo con temas en los que siempre dejan su inconfundible huella en una electrónica muy elaborada, elegante y bailable. Ritmos a medio camino entre lo ecléptico y lo sensual, llenos de nostalgía, pero con la fuerza de arrancarte un contorneo lento y vago o incluso desatar cierta euforia en sus temas y sesiones más cañeras. La influencia del pop rock también emerge en sus ritmos creando melodias inusuales y llenas de fuerza. Sin duda no podemos pasar esta oportunidad de recomendarte encarecidamente que revises su discografía tras la edición de su último recopilatorio Winter on Sunset Blvd y que si tienes la oportunidad, los veas actuar en directo, pues son nombres indispensables que siempre se han visto relacionados con personajes como Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin y muchos otros grandes con los que han compartido ya cabina

Vicknoise is the "nom de guerre" of a young dj and noisemaker from Barcelona who, in just a few years, has become of the most respected and hotly tipped dj's of the spanish scene thanks to his impecable taste and blinding mising skills. A top producer and remixer, he runs the Factor City label with his friend Gabriel Berlanga (Undo) as well as holding a residency in Barcelona's top club, The Loft, and playing constantly around

Dj, producer and label owner, Undo is a man of many faces. Lots of activities for a musician who followed a steady career before appearing like a revelation in the early 2k's Barcelona scene. Gabriel Berlanga has been composer, vocalist, guitarist and bassist in pop-rock bands since the school days. By the mid-90's, he turned his attention also into the emerging world of electronic dance music. Gabriel started to collect records, dj and to experiment with electronic sounds and structures: playing old synths, loop-samplers and guitar fx. In 2002 he got his own computer and discovered the possibilities of bedroom producing and digital audio. He started to write and produce as Undo surfacing on the wake of the early 2000 electro-boom with a dancefloor bomb called "Mirrorball". The demise of Minifunk (label where he was originally signed to) and a providential meeting with Vicknoise led to the creation of Factor City and, from then on, things snowballed: resident and artistic director at The Loft/Lolita Clubs in Barcelona, engagements all over the euro geography, a record label in full swing and a string of well received 12's (either solo, with Vicknoise or with MouseUp as Spare Time) and remixes for artists such as Ellen Allien, Akufen or Trisomie 21. Busy years that passed by really fast but cimented a solid reputation and a profile that only keeps on growing. 2006 sees him going even stronger with the release of his debut album "Despacio", a very personal affair showcasing his interests and influences; halfway between the living room and the dancefloor lies a collection of songs which take inspiration from both modern techno and the indie pop of his school days. A record which is nothing but a further proof of his unique approach to music making and a desire to tear down barriers. Just undo it!
